"Do you not know I am a woman?" - William Shakespeare, As You Like It

The year is 1587. Aspiring author Aemilia Bassano leaves the safety of the home of Countess Susan Bertie, where she has been educated, in order to pursue a life of luxury as the mistress of the Baron Henry Carey. Instead, she finds herself caught in a web of deceptions involving the greatest playwright of her time -- and ours: William Shakespeare.

By Any Other Name is an historical fantasy that explores what it means to find your voice in a world that will not hear it.
