Doubt: A Parable

by John Patrick Shanley

Conviction is a resting place. Doubt is infinite.

"You have not the slightest proof of anything."
"No, but I have my certainty!"
(Doubt, 2005, John Patrick Shanley)

In a Bronx Catholic school in 1964, the principal Sister Aloysius begins to suspect the parish priest, Father Flynn, of committing a terrible crime. She enlists the help of the young and idealistic Sister James in her pursuit of vindication. As Sister James wrestles with the moral dilemma before her, John Patrick Shanley provokes the audience to question the foundations of their own convictions.

Doubt is a four-person show. 3W, 1M.
